Can Couples With Different Fitness Levels Train Together?
Yes. Couples can share an in-home personal-training session while receiving coaching adapted to each person. Ellen DeVore works with partners in Cave Creek, Scottsdale and Northeast Phoenix who want to build strength, stay active, or make exercise a regular part of life together—even when their starting points are different.

How can one session work for two different people?
Sharing a session does not mean doing identical workouts. Ellen adapts coaching to each person’s goals, abilities, and how they feel that day. One of you may be returning after time away from exercise while the other wants a greater challenge.
Semi-private training is available with a spouse, partner, or friend. It gives you a shared appointment and encouragement while keeping individual needs part of the conversation.
Can strength and flexibility work support an interest in golf?
Golf can be a useful reason to stay consistent with fitness. If you want to feel stronger or move more comfortably for the activities you enjoy, discuss that goal with Ellen. Personal training addresses your fitness goals; it does not guarantee a particular swing change, score, or relief from back pain.
Heidi and Jacy report that they noticed an improvement in their golf game after focusing on core strength and flexibility. They began with group classes in 2012, later trained virtually, and then moved to in-home sessions. Their experience shows how a training relationship can adapt as routines and interests change.
If you have pain or an injury that affects your swing, follow guidance from your healthcare professional. Fitness coaching complements that care.
What does couples training cost?
Each participant pays three-quarters of the applicable individual rate. At the $90 single-session hourly rate, that is $67.50 per person for a shared hour, or $135 combined. At the $80 hourly rate with the 40-hour package, it is $60 per person, or $120 combined.
For a shared one-hour session, each person uses 45 minutes of package time; if one person pays for both, the session uses 90 minutes from that package. See rates and package policies before choosing a package.
